A Very Hoppy Fall Wedding at the Brewery at Four Star Farms

Where to start with this wedding?! Held at Four Star Farms, a unique wedding venue in Western Massachusetts known for its picturesque hops fields, pops of foliage, and it’s stunning barn and brewhouse - what made this day truly special were the unique, personalized touches that A + A incorporated into it.

Ally and Andrea are members of my community and wonderful humans and I was so excited to photograph their wedding day. I knew that everyone would look amazing, and it would be different in the best of ways, and it truly was. A + A’s day was incredibly moving, focused on love and laughter, and full of joy.

Love knows no bounds, and for this queer couple, their wedding day was a celebration of their love and commitment to each other and a celebration of their beautiful community.

Instead of a traditional first look, the couple opted for a first look followed by a delicious brunch, delivered by one of the bride’s brothers. This is where they exchanged rings. It was the perfect way to start their day. They fueled up for the festivities, and spent some quiet time together before the hustle and bustle of the wedding - two things couples rarely get on their wedding days! After brunch, the couple and their family took advantage of the beautiful fall weather and the stunning foliage around the barn for a champagne toast and family photos.

Guests began to arrive at Four Star Farm shortly after we finished family photos and the couple had a chance to share a beverage and greet guests as they geared up for the ceremony. Guests had the opportunity to explore the grounds and take in all of the special little details Ally and Andrea poured into their wedding day vision. One of my absolute favorite of their special touches were the match box guest favors that played off the fact that they met on Tinder. “It’s A Match” indeed!

The ceremony itself was held in the hops field, with guests sipping on drinks and listening to heartfelt speeches and toasts. The brides walked down the aisle together toward their community and opened the ceremony with a toast. The vows were so very beautifully written and undoubtedly personal, and there wasn't a dry eye in the house - yours truly included.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the barn before moving to the reception tent. The couple had really put their entire selves into their reception decor. The space featured long wooden tables set with entirely thrifted wares. The brides spent the months leading up to their wedding day thrifting fabric, silver, glassware, tableware, and candlesticks to create their reception space. Tones of warm, worn metal and colorful venetian glass with pops of wild flowers from Many Graces added the perfect touches of whimsy and beauty to their space. And I HAVE to mention the deliciously prepared menu by Dark Horse Hill which just so happened to be vegetarian / vegan. I don’t see this too often, but when I do I always love it! It’s more sustainable and better on our lovely planet, and is oftentimes much healthier.

I stole these two for holden hour a little early to take advantage of the beautiful light fading over the horizon. I loved how bright and bold everything looked. We drove all over the property in a gold cart to get these shots. From the pumpkin patch all the way to Ally’s perfect red tree. They’re perhaps some of my favorite photos from the day! The hops farm was SUCH a cool backdrop for photos. I can’t wait to come back to Four Star Farms for another brewery wedding!

As the reception wound down and I took photos of the couple with their guests, Mike set up a fun night shot as the venue got read for…. you guessed it… Karaoke! Even though I’m a little tired at this point in a wedding day, I always have to pry myself away from the party. I love capturing fun, creative photos, followed by a big old dance party. There may have even been a little bit of table dancing! Keep scrolling for karaoke goodness and a full list of the vendors involved in the magic of A + A's beautiful wedding day.
