A Sunny White Mountains Proposal Atop Cathedral Ledge

Love is a beautiful thing, and when it comes to proposals, it's hard not to get swept away in the magic of it all. Recently, Yash proposed to his partner Smriti on a warm, sunny September morning at the lookout on Cathedral Ledge in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. It was such a sweet moment, and one that they'll both cherish for the rest of their lives.

Cathedral Ledge has a rich history dating back to the 1800s when it was a popular destination for tourists and artists. Today, it remains a popular spot for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, and the stunning views of the White Mountains make it the perfect location for a romantic proposal. Yash knew this and chose the lookout on Cathedral Ledge to pop the question to Smriti.

If you're thinking of proposing to your partner and want to capture the moment with a photographer, there are a few things to keep in mind.

First, it's important to find a photographer who specializes in proposal photography. They will have the right equipment, know how to capture the moment without being intrusive, and they'll work with you to plan the perfect location and timing for your proposal. If they’re extra special, they’ll also deal with foot, traffic, prepare your site for you, and allow you to track their location the hour of the session (and vice versa! I love doing this to make sure I know exactly where you are and when to expect you). You can also ask for their suggestions on how to make the proposal session more special and romantic!

Before the proposal, it's important to prepare. Think about what you want to say to your partner and practice it beforehand. Consider the logistics of the day, such as where you'll propose, where you’ll position yourselves, what time of day it will be (and where the sun is), and what you and your partner will be wearing. It's also a good idea to have a backup plan (or a photographer who can help you create one on the fly) in case of unexpected weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

When Yash proposed to Smriti, he had thought of everything. He had booked an experienced photographer, chose a stunning location that was meaningful to both of them, and had also taken the time to plan with me to ensure a flawless proposal. We can attest - she said yes!

We spent a little time after their session capturing some newly engaged photos and the beautiful views we had all around us. There really is nothing like the White Mountains!
