Engagement: Akyanna + Andrea's Rainy Boston Seaport Proposal

Andrea had already proposed last December when Akyanna reached out to me with her plan for a counter proposal. Wait until you see what we pulled off during a crazy rain and wind storm on the Boston Harbor.

Oh, and of COURSE she said yes :)

If I could give Amanda a 10 out of 5, I would! Working with Amanda was the best decision I could have ever made.

After the proposal, despite the weather we decided to snap a few engagement photos.

Honestly, I love when couples embrace the rain! Akyanna was nervous day-of, but wanted to go forward as planned and I assured her we could make it work. The cake we brought may have been swimming in some rain water, but other than that, we made our cute little set up work and Andrea was so surprised! AND THEN THE PHOTOS. I swear, the natural chemistry between these two is infectious and enviable! They were naturals, and we giggled our butts off.

Here’s what Akyanna had to say:

We kept in touch on a weekly basis and she even dealt with my panic emails in the days leading up to the big day. As we got closer, we realized that it was going to rain so we needed to make a last minute change of plans. While I was so concerned about the integrity of Amanda’s equipment and her ability to take photos in the rain, she was completely down to photograph us in the rain and made me feel confident that the proposal would still go well. Amanda met with my family to pick up the proposal site props, let me borrow some of her own, and set up everything for the site to look AMAZING.

The fog around the Custom House Tower in the Boston skyline was EPIC. Christopher Columbus Park (pardon the name, my friends, they did remove the statue for good though!) is such a pretty spot, right on the harbor walk by the Seaport, surrounded by amazing restaurants and super close to City Hall, Quincy Market, and Downtown Crossing.

If I could give Amanda a 10 out of 5, I would! Working with Amanda was the best decision I could have ever made after making the decision to say yes to my fiancee. I reached out to Amanda after finding her on WeddingWire with the hopes of her helping me with planning a surprise counter-proposal to my fiancee. In the initial phone call, Amanda took time to get to know me as a person, the relationship I had with my fiancee, and what my hopes were for Amanda’s photography for the event. Not only did we hit it off on the initial phone call, but communication following was so prompt, professional, and fun! Amanda helped me find the perfect place (literally down to the actual tree that I was going to propose under) along with making sure I had everything I needed to make the proposal site look beautiful. She led my fiancee and I through the whole photoshoot and took a mix of candid and posed photos. Between the natural raw talent of photography that Amanda has coupled with the professionalism, composure, and friendliness I experienced - I could not recommend Amanda Macchia Photography more. You can not find a more inclusive, fun, and radiant human being to help you document the big moments in life.
