Vivian + John's Seaside Saybrook Point Wedding
Old Saybrook in late summer is simply stunning. This little coastal town is full of quaint, historical charm with an unexpected elegance to it. We were delighted to explore its Marina for Vivian + John’s wedding! From the Three Stories Guesthouse to the Lighthouse Bridal Suite out on the docks, we were smitten!
I like to start every wedding day with some details. I consider it my warm up period. I follow that with getting ready photos to really set the stage for the day. I LOVE how the color of Vivian’s bridal party robes pop against the backdrop of the bridal suite. Inside the suite was this little blue bedroom that I was so excited to use for bridal party robe photos.
First looks with a pup are a must have if you’re inviting your furry friends to your wedding. We loved snapping a quick Bridal Party photo with the couple’s dogs before heading off to get tucked away for the ceremony.
Such charming, beautiful details. Nothing says summer to me like classic, white hydrangeas by the ocean. I love the pops of purple and lavender the florist included. It’s the perfect amount and shade of purple to accent the florals without overpowering it. Such a stunning wedding ceremony setup!
Those just married photos are some of my favorite to take! Even if it’s a quick cheers in the parking lot as we’re headed over to our next location for wedding party photos. These will likely be some of your favorite too.
It’s always really fun when the couple comes with a vision and some excitement for their wedding party photos! I loved using the resort’s historical guest houses and gardens across the street for Vivian and John’s Wedding Party photos. After we were done the sun was setting so we headed over to the docks to take some family photos followed by couples photos as the 2nd photographer captured cocktail hour.
Sunset by the water on a clear day is so pretty! I always recommend taking time for some formal photos then, you won’t regret it! Saybrook Point’s backdrop was a gorgeous setting for a few quick couples photos before heading back into their venue for the reception.
If you’re wondering whether to do a choreographed dance at your wedding, the answer is probably YES! The guest reactions are delightful and we love a good surprise! This followed by the traditional Chinese Dragon dancers made the beginning of the reception such a fun, start to their party! Keep scrolling for one of the best cake cuttings ever, and some of the sweetest, most special, twinkly night photos on the Saybrook Point Marina docks to close out a perfect wedding day.
