Love Among the Stacks: A Library Wedding Tale for the Ultimate Book-Loving Couple

Michelle and Michael had their first date at the Boston Public Library a month before lockdown, and knew they were a match. The pair have turned their love of books into a tradition, making it a point to go to a library in every state they visit. Michael even proposed to Michelle at her hometown library and chose to take their engagement photos at the Pollard Library in Lowell, where they spent much in the early days of their relationship. It’s no surprise they chose the beautiful Arlington Town Hall and Robbins Library as their wedding venue.

Every detail was an Art Deco-inspired ode to their love of books, and when we thought to hang her dress in the empty Town Hall auditorium with all the string lights on, we knew we were in heaven!

An intimate and touching first look in the gardens was followed by family photos on the lawn between the library and the Town Hall. We then tucked the Wedding Party away as guests began to arrive.

The ceremony was held in the main room of the Robbins Library, a grand atrium, warmed by it’s wooden features but bright with natural light. Shelves lined with books surrounded the couple and their guests as they said their vows and shared a first kiss.

Cocktail hour was held in the gardens as the sun began to make its descent, and we took the opportunity to snap some just-married photos of M + M, sneaking back into the library. These were some of my favorite photos from the day!

As the sun set, guests made their way into the Arlington Town Hall for the start of the reception. The auditorium is a grand space for a reception, with plenty of room for guests, a dance floor, and a band or DJ setup on the stage. The enchanting historic charm of this space is timeless and so meaningful for this pair.
