Love Under the Sea: A Rainy Day at the New England Aquarium
In the heart of Boston, the city meets the sea at the New England Aquarium. Adjacent to the iconic Boston Harborwalk, the Aquarium is a fun, unique venue loaded with possibilities for all types of weddings and events. Despite the rain trying to dampen spirits, this harbor-side venue proved to be the perfect backdrop for Sary + Becky’s wedding day. Love flowed like the tides, creating an unforgettable celebration that echoed the sentiment—come rain or shine, love will always prevail.
First Look on the Harbor walk
As rain clouds lingered overhead, the couple decided to steal a moment for a first look on the Boston Harbor walk. The break in the clouds was all we needed! Raindrops threatened to dance on the water as the couple exchanged glances and promises, surrounded by their wedding party and the sea.
As the rain began, group photos were moved indoors. We chose a spot by the seals and I love how the architecture frames their grouping. The little playful antics of the seals popping up to say hi in the background were the cherry on top!
With the rain continuing, the ceremony was moved to an equally enchanting location—by the penguins. Surrounded by the joyful waddles and playful splashes of the penguins, the couple exchanged vows. The intimate ceremony showcased the resilience of love, even in the face of unpredictable weather.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds ventured into the heart of the aquarium for couples' photos. The museum is a tricky, but fun place to get creative for couples photos. We have constant lights that we bring so we can get amazing photos without hurting the aquatic life.
The marine exhibits served as a unique and colorful backdrop, creating a vivid tapestry of love against the vibrant aquatic displays. Meanwhile, guests mingled and explored the wonders of the museum.
The reception unfolded under the harbor-side tent just outside of the museum, which shielded guests from the downpour outside, creating a cozy and intimate ambiance. Dinner and dancing carried on as if the weather had no say in the joyous festivities.
As the night reached its enf, the couple bid farewell with a silly, energetic bubble gun and glow stick exit. It was silly, hilarious, and oh do colorful!
