Annie + Eli's Hall Pond Engagement Session

When I first moved to Boston before AMP was born, I lived near this beautiful place and often found myself walking here to find a bit of green peace amid life in Allston Rat City.

Hall's Pond Sanctuary is a beautiful 3.5-acre natural area nestled within Boston, just off Commonwealth Avenue. It offers walking trails, boardwalks, and observation decks that allow visitors to explore diverse habitats including a pond, wetlands, and woodlands. The sanctuary is a haven for wildlife, including various bird species, turtles, and frogs, making it a popular spot for birdwatching and nature enthusiasts in the Greater Boston area.

When Annie and Eli first let me know they wanted to do their engagement session here, I jumped for joy! It’s such a hidden gem in Boston, and I always get excited to explore and capture new spaces outside of the good ol’ Boston Public Garden norm. What made this spot even more meaningful was how special it was to A + E.

We started the session by the parking lot where these two massive willow trees were perfectly framing a little bench area that hides the entrance to the sanctuary walk, and then made our way into the woods to find all the little lookouts onto Hall’s Pond.

Being this was the beginning of Fall, there was still some goldenrod in bloom around the sanctuary of Hall’s Pond. It was the perfect pop of color amidst all the green that surrounded them.

Once you snake your way through the woods and around the pond, you find yourself at a secret garden nestled in the back of Hall’s Pond Sanctuary in Allston, MA, complete with an adorable little trellised walk-way!
