Engagement: A Halibut State Park and Beauport Hotel Engagement Session
Tell me about the places that mean the most to you - the places where cold winds won't bother you because you're too busy remembering the biggest moments of your life, or soaking up the magnitude of all this beauty.
Chris + Ariel brought me to the place where Ariel proposed in Rockport’s Halibut State Park (which is up the street from my grandparent’s house in Cape Ann, Gloucester), and we loved reliving their proposal story while exploring a place so close to our own hearts.
On a chilly late fall day, some time after Thanksgiving and when quarantine had thoroughly caught up with them, they were both craving a little sunshine and fresh air. So they came here. They wandered near the water, sat on the stones, and watched the waves come in. Then Ariel pulled out a big box with a ring pop inside. Chris laughed. The running joke was always "I don't care what ring you get me, just get me a ring pop", and so of course that's exactly what Ari did.
Right after these fun tide pool reflection shots, we head to the area where Ari asked Chris to marry her and snuggled up against the cold. These two were such champs! It was a chilly day by the water, but you could hardly tell looking at these two.
I can’t resist a beautiful, bloomful forsythia bush! It was a pretty grey day, so we used our Profoto A1X on a Magrip to light up the flowers and make them glow, giving the couple a little more separation from the background.
After that, we headed to the rooftop of the Beauport Hotel which we had to ourselves to sing, dance, and snuggle a little more while taking in the breathtaking 360 degree views of the coast and downtown Gloucester.
