As a photographer, I've had the privilege of documenting weddings in some of the most breathtaking locations, but few compare to the unique grandeur of Hammond Castle in Gloucester, MA. Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph Hayley + John, who 100% threw a ceremony fit for a freaking castle!

The day began with the bride getting ready at a nearby bed and breakfast in Rockport. Hayley donned a truly striking black wedding dress and crown, with gorgeous puffy sleeves and sequenced details. The groom was straight out of Game of Thrones. And the rest of the guests? They were encouraged to treat it like a costume party!

After some finishing touches and portraits at Hammond Castle, the couple were ready to get married!

The ceremony took place inside the Great Hall of Hammond Castle, where the ambiance was nothing short of incredible. Against the backdrop of stone walls adorned with medieval tapestries, the couple exchanged vows in a ceremony that was both dramatic and romantic.

As dusk fell and the castle was bathed in the soft glow of twilight, we embarked on a journey to capture some couples photos around the castle.

From the drawbridge to the library, we explored every corner of the castle we could, capturing images that were both hauntingly beautiful and utterly captivating. It was so fun to play in this space after dark after having spent so many other types of days here. Bathed in the glow of candlelight, this place truly shines, and Hayley and John looked every bit the part of a Gothic fairytale couple.

In the end, as the night sky twinkled overhead and the castle walls echoed with laughter and music, I couldn't help but feel grateful to have been a part of such a unique and magical celebration. To all the couples out there dreaming of a wedding that defies convention and embraces the unconventional, Hammond Castle offers the perfect backdrop for a day that is as extraordinary as your love story.
