Wedding: Multicultural Wedding at the Loring Greenough House
It was so nice to be back at Loring Greenough, and this time in the fall!
Dominique had been planning her wedding for five years before she met Alex. The fact that they both have Jamaican and Greek in their families was almost too perfect.
The pair opted for a casual fall ceremony with notes of gold and silver throughout (our favorite being the mix and match look of the bridal party dresses with both texture and color!) and pops of blue as a nod to their Greek heritage. Everything worked beautifully against the backdrop of their venue, a gorgeous estate in the middle of JP with luscious gardens and a small tent, inside of which is a treasure trove of bright colors, ornate fixtures, and lavish, gilded wallpaper.
Dominique and Alex really wanted to capture the diversity of their family and friends, while also getting some beautiful editorial photos of the two of them as well as stunning family and wedding party photos.
After getting ready with Dom, all three of her moms, and her bridal party, we headed to the Arboretum for our first look and family photos. Nestled back away from the throngs of New England leaf peepers, we set up a private first look. When we were on our way back, we found ourselves met by a wedding party receiving line. At that point we knew this was going to be one heck of a party!
Although the Arboretum can be busy at this time of year (mid October on a Saturday) there are plenty of places to tuck away for gorgeous wedding photos. We saw at least four other couples and several families getting their photo taken while we were there!
I absolutely love the way the blues of the suits and the subtle metal tones in the bridesmaids dresses and groomsen’s details look against this tree in the Arboretum. Talk about a vision come to life!
I really wanted to share photos of the reception from this wedding, partially because we love them but also because the speakers were remarkable and the performances beautiful (like does talent just run in your DNA guys?!).
The special dances were touching - it was an emotional day for many reasons. There was so much to celebrate, but the couple had lost immediate family members during COVID and the bride’s best friend wasn’t able to be at the wedding due to what would be a terminal illness. If hearts were heavy, you could not tell. The spirit of the day was that of love, Dom + Alex were just so grateful to have so much of it in their loves - whether it was in the room physically or not. Above all else, that is what was apparent. Tears were shed minimally, roaring laughter was had in abundance. And the dance floor in the Loring Greenough tent was absolutely LIT. So much love to this couple and their beautiful family!
We love greek food, buffets, and capturing all of the different moods in a wedding day. These mixed light photos from the later parts of the reception are some of our favorite.
