Wedding: Whimsical Backyard Elopement for this Chestnut Hill Couple

If you’ve ever driven around Chestnut Hill, you’d know how gorgeous and incredibly desirable this little village just outside of Boston is. Idyllic curb appeal in the form of boundless lawns, beautiful mansions, and historic New England charm, it’s the kind of place you want to get lost in. When I first moved to Boston I spent so many fall afternoons doing just that - driving down Comm Ave and weaving through Chestnut Hill’s Boston, Brookline, and Neighborhood streets to ooh and ahh at the leafy estates and incredibly properties. You can imagine how delighted I was when I found out that Jenny + Andy were getting married in one of those very backyards! We love summer, we love backyards, and we love small weddings, so this one was right up our alley. Get ready to see the most GORGEOUS property!

While they had originally planned to have their ceremony by the fountain out back, light rain all morning forced J + A to switch gears and move things to the covered patio on the second floor. With just close family present, they were also hosting a zoom ceremony and couldn’t risk it in the rain. In true 2020 form, by the time they moved the chuppah and entire setup to their alternate location, the drizzle had stopped and the sun had come out.

Some things just happen for a reason though, don’t they? The dappled lighting through the trees was breathtaking and the bit of shade the patio provided for their guests ended up being a gift.

After walking down the aisle together, A circled J (which we loved!), and was greeted by A’s sister who led an especially heartfelt, inclusive ceremony. There were tears of joy and love all around.

After J + A said “I do” and had a few laughs, we headed downstairs for family photos by the fountain, ending our session with couples photos around their dreamy property. Swoon!
