L+B had their seaside wedding at the Duxbury Bay Maritime School where the bride spent much of her time growing up. Even though they were both finishing up law school in the year leading up to their wedding, they planned the entire event themselves, and the attention to detail shone through in the most heart warming of ways.

These new, dear friends of mine, paid such special, sacred attention to those loved ones who couldn’t be with them for their wedding. Adoring the bouquet and boutonnieres were photos of those have passed. In the bouquet were black Dahlias, the groom’s brother’s favorite flower, and many times throughout the day they would take a silent moment to remember those loved ones who couldn’t be there with them.

The amount of love between everyone in their family, was so palpable it very quickly reminded me that this is what I love most about weddings - these unforgettable reminders of what an incredible privilege it is to be alive and to share this world with other people.
